PRIVACY POLICY

Updated at June 18th, 2026

Mitonne ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your personal information is collected, used, and disclosed by Mitonne.

This Privacy Policy applies to our app, and its associated services (collectively, our "Service"). By accessing or using our Service, you signify that you have read, understood, and agree to our collection, storage, use, and disclosure of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy and our Terms and Conditions.

Definitions and key terms

To help explain things as clearly as possible in this Privacy Policy, every time any of these terms are referenced, are strictly defined as:

What Information Do We Collect?

We collect information from you when you register on the app, set your preferences, use AI features, subscribe, contact support, or otherwise use the Service.

We also process the content and information you provide while using the App:

We also automatically collect limited technical information such as device type, app version, app interaction/log data, approximate location derived from your IP address, and a push-notification token (if you enable notifications).

We also collect information from mobile devices for a better user experience, although these features are completely optional:

The App also reads cooking instructions aloud using your device's built-in text-to-speech. This is audio output only — we do not record or transmit your voice.

What we do NOT collect: We do not collect or store your payment card number or billing address (these are handled by Google Play — see "Payment Details"), and we do not collect your mailing address.

How We Use Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Mitonne's core features rely on AI. When you generate or adapt a recipe, chat with the AI chef, or submit a photo for analysis, the relevant input (your text and/or image) is sent through our secure backend to a third-party AI Provider, which processes it and returns a result to you.

We send only what is needed to produce your result. We do not sell this information, and we do not use your private inputs to advertise to you. AI-generated content may be inaccurate — please read the AI and food/allergen disclaimer in our Terms and Conditions, and never rely on the App for allergy, medical, or nutritional decisions.

When does Mitonne use information from third parties?

We may receive information from third parties when you contact us or sign in. For example, if you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account email and basic profile information from Google. We may also receive information from a provider that performs automated fraud-detection or security services for us.

Do we share the information we collect with third parties?

We may engage trusted third-party service providers to perform functions and provide services to us, such as hosting and maintaining our servers and the app, database storage and management, e-mail delivery, authentication, push notifications, app-store billing, AI processing, and customer support. We share with these providers only the information needed for them to perform these services, and they are required to protect it.

The third parties we rely on include:

We may share portions of our log file data, including IP addresses, for analytics purposes to help us understand and improve how the App is used.

We may also disclose personal and non-personal information about you to government or law enforcement officials or private parties as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate in order to respond to claims, legal process (including subpoenas), to protect our rights and interests or those of a third party, the safety of the public or any person, to prevent or stop any illegal, unethical, or legally actionable activity, or to otherwise comply with applicable court orders, laws, rules and regulations.

We may also share or transfer your information in connection with a merger, asset sale, or other business reorganization, provided the recipient agrees to honor this Privacy Policy.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.

To be precise about what that means, because "sell" and "share" have specific legal definitions under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) that are broader than an exchange of money: we do not disclose your personal information to any third party for money or other valuable consideration, and we do not disclose it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We run no advertising SDKs, no advertising pixels and no data brokers. The analytics we do run has the advertising identifier and ad-personalisation signals switched off (see the list above), which is what keeps this statement true rather than merely intended.

Where and when is information collected?

Mitonne will collect personal information that you submit to us. We may also receive personal information about you from third parties as described above.

How Do We Use The Information We Collect?

Any of the information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways:

How Do We Use Your Email Address?

By submitting your email address you agree to receive service-related emails from us (such as account verification and important notices). With your consent, we may also send product updates, which you can cancel at any time by clicking the unsubscribe option included in those emails. We only send emails to people who have authorized us to contact them. We do not send unsolicited commercial emails, and we do not use your email address for third-party advertising or audience-targeting.

How Long Do We Keep Your Information?

We keep your information only so long as we need it to provide Mitonne to you and fulfill the purposes described in this policy. When you delete your account, we delete your associated personal data from our active systems within a reasonable period and no later than 90 days, except where we must retain certain information to comply with our legal or regulatory obligations or to resolve disputes. Backups are overwritten on a routine cycle. When we no longer need your information, we either remove it or depersonalize it so that we can't identify you.

How Do We Protect Your Information?

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information. Data is transmitted using encryption (such as TLS/SSL), and access to stored information is restricted to authorized personnel and service providers. Your access to AI features runs through a secure backend proxy, so sensitive keys are never stored in the App.

We do not collect or store your credit/debit card details. All payments are processed by Google Play, and your card information is handled by Google under Google's own security and privacy practices.

We cannot, however, ensure or warrant the absolute security of any information you transmit to Mitonne or guarantee that your information may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by a breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards.

Payment Details

All subscription payments are processed by Google Play, which acts as the merchant of record. We never receive or store your credit/debit card number or billing address. We receive only your subscription status (for example, whether your subscription is active) needed to unlock premium features. Google's handling of your payment information is governed by Google's privacy policy.

Could my information be transferred to other countries?

Mitonne is operated from Israel. Information collected via our app, through direct interactions with you, or from use of our help services may be transferred from time to time to our personnel or to third-party service providers located in other countries, and may be processed and hosted elsewhere in the world. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law. By using the App, you understand your information may be processed outside your country of residence.

Is the information collected through the Mitonne Service secure?

We take precautions to protect the security of your information. We have physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to help safeguard, prevent unauthorized access, maintain data security, and correctly use your information. However, neither people nor security systems are foolproof, so while we use reasonable efforts to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Can I update, correct, or delete my information?

You can:

To protect your privacy and security, we may take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making changes. You are responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your password and account information at all times.

Please be aware that, due to routine backups, a copy of your information may persist in a non-erasable form for a limited time before it is overwritten. Promptly after receiving your request, all personal information stored in databases we actively use will be updated, corrected, or deleted as appropriate.

Sale of Business

We reserve the right to transfer information to a third party in the event of a sale, merger or other transfer of all or substantially all of the assets of Mitonne, or in the event that we discontinue our business or are involved in bankruptcy or similar proceedings, provided that the third party agrees to adhere to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Affiliates

We may disclose information (including personal information) about you to our Corporate Affiliates. For purposes of this Privacy Policy, "Corporate Affiliate" means any person or entity which directly or indirectly controls, is controlled by, or is under common control with Mitonne. Any information relating to you that we provide to our Corporate Affiliates will be treated by those Corporate Affiliates in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of Israel without regard to its conflict of laws provision. Your use of the App may also be subject to other local, state, national, or international laws.

By using Mitonne or contacting us directly, you signify your acceptance of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, you should not use our services.

Your Consent

We've updated our Privacy Policy to provide you with complete transparency into what is collected when you use the App and how it's being used. By using Mitonne, registering an account, or making a purchase, you hereby consent to our Privacy Policy and agree to its terms.

Links to Other Websites

This Privacy Policy applies only to the Services. The Services may contain links to other websites not operated or controlled by Mitonne. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or opinions expressed in such websites. When you use a link to go from the Services to another website, our Privacy Policy is no longer in effect, and your interaction with that website is subject to its own rules and policies.

Cookies and Local Storage

Mitonne is a mobile app and does not rely on browser cookies for its core features. The App stores some data locally on your device (such as your login session, preferences, and saved recipes) so that it can remember your settings and keep you signed in. You can clear this data by signing out or deleting the App. We never place Personally Identifiable Information in advertising trackers.

Please note that this on-device data — including your saved recipes, food log, allergy/sensitivity settings, and shopping list — is stored only on the device where you created it and is excluded from cloud and device-to-device backup. It is therefore not automatically transferred if you switch to a new device or reinstall the App, and deleting the App removes it. Your subscription is tied to your account and can be restored on a new device, but this local content cannot.

Tracking Technologies

Children's Privacy

Mitonne is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us at app.support.souschef@gmail.com and we will take steps to remove that information from our servers.

Changes To Our Privacy Policy

We may change our Service and policies, and we may need to make changes to this Privacy Policy so that it accurately reflects our Service and policies. Unless otherwise required by law, we will notify you (for example, through the App) before changes take effect and give you an opportunity to review them. If you continue to use the Service, you will be bound by the updated Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.

Third-Party Services

We may display, include, or make available third-party content or provide links to third-party websites or services ("Third-Party Services"). You acknowledge and agree that Mitonne shall not be responsible for any Third-Party Services, including their accuracy, completeness, legality, or quality. Third-Party Services are accessed at your own risk and subject to those third parties' terms and conditions.

Information about General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

We may be collecting and using information from you if you are from the European Economic Area (EEA) or the UK. In this section we explain how and why this data is collected and how we protect it.

What is GDPR? GDPR is an EU-wide privacy and data protection law that regulates how EU residents' data is protected by companies and enhances the control residents have over their personal data.

What is personal data? Any data that relates to an identifiable or identified individual. GDPR covers a broad spectrum of information that could be used on its own, or in combination with other information, to identify a person.

The Data Protection Principles include requirements such as:

Individual Data Subject's Rights — Access, Portability, and Deletion

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. You can exercise most of these rights directly in the App, or by contacting app.support.souschef@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)

The California Consumer Privacy Act requires us to disclose the categories of Personal Information we collect and how we use it, the categories of sources, and the third parties with whom we share it, which we have explained above.

California residents may exercise the following rights:
